Monitoring the inoculations of edible fungi in pruning remains in the Muñovela farm

Last week a team of project partners visited the Muñovela farm (Salamanca) to monitor the progress and results obtained from the actions carried out on the farm.

In October 2020, 200 trunks were inoculated with Lentinula edodes (shiitake) and Trametes versicolor.

Throughout this time, IRNASA-CSIC personnel have carried out several irrigations with the aim of maintaining humidity and achieving optimal mycelium development. Likewise, ID Forest personnel have been monitoring the evolution of mycelium growth in the inoculated trunks, observing positive results.

Although this year's spring has been very dry, late and short, we have already started to see some small fruiting of these fungi.
